House Bill 2178 grants students who pay the student engagement fee the opportunity to redirect their pro rata share of fees away from specific organizations of their choosing.

This bill empowers students to have greater control over their fees while increasing transparency in the funding allocation process for student organizations.

Who does this impact? 

  • Clubs and Organizations: All clubs must complete the recognition process by the designated deadline to be eligible for funding. For Spring 2025, this deadline is January 22, 2025.
    • Clubs that are not recognized by this date can still complete the recognition process later but will not qualify for funding during Spring 2025.
  • Undergraduate Students: Students paying the student engagement fee can opt out of funding for up to three clubs or organizations during the one-week selection period. 

Recognition Deadline 

Clubs and organizations must be recognized by January 22, 2025, to qualify for ASUA Club Funding in Spring 2025. Clubs that complete the recognition process after this date will not appear on the Qualtrics form used for student selections and will be ineligible for funding.

Qualtrics Submissions

  • Students will have one week to submit their selections using a qualtircs form provided on the ASUA website. This form will also be emailed to all undergraduate students who pay the student engagement fee.
  • The form will go live on January 24, 2025, and close on January 31, 2025.
  • Submissions will remain completely anonymous to ASUA.

Spring 2025 Timeline

  • Wednesday, January 22, 2025 @ 5pm | Recognition deadline for clubs to be eligible for ASUA Club Funding. 
  • Friday, January 24, 2025 | Qualtrics form goes live for submissions.
  • Friday, January 24, 2025 | ASUA Club funding applications open in CampusGroups.
  • Friday, January 31, 2025 | Qualtrics submissions due. 
  • Thursday, February 6, 2025 @ 2pm | ASUA club funding applications close.
  • Tuesday, February 11, 2025 | First ASUA club funding appropriations meeting
