ADDRESSING BASIC NEEDS
5:00PM
ASUA Classroom, SUMC Suite 325
Basic needs insecurity is the lack of consistent access to essential resources such as food, housing, healthcare, and transportation. On college campuses, this challenge affects many students and can interfere with their academic success and overall wellbeing.
Student advocacy is essential because basic needs insecurity is a systemic problem, not an individual failure. When students advocate, they help reduce stigma, promote equity, and push for long-term solutions that allow all students to succeed.
This presentation will allow for campus leaders to learn about basic needs insecurity nationally, and how they can advocate for change and reduce stigma in their own roles.
