President
My name is Katie Kelliher, and I am a junior at the University of Arizona.
I currently serve as the Administrative Vice President of the Associated Students of the University of Arizona, and previously served as a Senator at Large. I am running for Student Body President because I believe in service above self and in the responsibility we all share to serve one another. At the core of my candidacy is a simple goal: to consistently advocate for students and their needs. After two years in ASUA, I have learned that identifying issues is not the hardest part of holding office. Anyone in a leadership role will hear student concerns and recognize what needs to change. The real difference lies in whether someone is willing to continue pushing for those changes long after the initial conversation ends. Meaningful progress is ongoing, often slow, and requires commitment and follow-through beyond a single term or headline initiative. As Administrative Vice President, I ran on transparency, outreach, and building strong cross-campus relationships, values I continue to center in my work. I have worked to foster conversations among students across campus and within ASUA because lasting progress comes from open communication and a diversity of perspectives. Transparency empowers students, and strong relationships ensure student voices are represented, even in spaces where students are not always present. I view this role as one of public service. I see it as my responsibility to bring student perspectives into conversations where they are not always represented and to advocate for their interests in every room I enter. Over the past two years, I have shown that I am capable of follow-through. Student advocacy does not end with a conversation or a change in leadership, and many of the challenges students face will require consistent, informed, and persistent attention over time. I have proven not only to my community, but to myself, that I am deeply committed to this university and to the students it serves. I am running for Student Body President to continue the work I have started and to advocate for students in a way that is practical, accountable, and sustained. Katie Kelliher

My name is Selena Morales, and I am running for Student Body President because students deserve leadership that delivers. A leader who is dependable and brings people together across divisions. Someone willing to take action for a better future. Students are not just participants in this university — we are its future, and we deserve leadership that truly sees us. Leadership, to me, has always been a reflection of character, a skill that translates across every environment. In ASUA, leadership is not about politics; it is about representing students, reflecting their priorities, and ensuring their voices guide our decisions. It requires transparency in motivations, clarity in policy, and the determination to get things done. As a first-generation college student, I understand what it means to navigate systems that were not built with you in mind. I was raised in a family where resilience, strength, and compassion were not just values — they were necessities. I have seen how powerful it is when someone shows up for you in the moments you need it most. That perspective shapes everything I do at the University of Arizona. Throughout my time here, I have led the same way I was raised: by showing up and staying involved. As a Senator, I founded an organization focused on supporting domestic violence survivors and promoting mental health advocacy, creating a space where students can access resources and feel less alone. I helped secure over $50,000 in funding to support student organizations and strengthen our campus community. I am organizing the first SBS Club Fair to connect students to opportunities and essential resources, including grocery assistance. I have held consistent office hours so students can share concerns directly, and I have advocated in Senate for meaningful campus safety measures because students deserve to feel protected and heard. But leadership is not only about what has been accomplished, it is also about the direction we move forward together. Student government should be proactive, transparent, and accountable. It should strengthen communication between students and administration, expand access to opportunity, and ensure policies reflect real student needs. Real leadership means standing firm under pressure and keeping your priorities steady. It means making decisions that may not always be easy, but are always rooted in what is right. Most importantly, it means remembering that this role is about people, not power. I do not believe in empty promises. I believe in action, accountability, and results. I am ready to continue building a campus where every student feels supported, valued, and empowered. To serve the University of Arizona with purpose and integrity. |

My name is Bhavya Makkar, and I am running to be your next ASUA Student Body President. In my time attending the UofA, I have gotten wrapped up in many movements: vigils, protests, town halls, coalitions, listening sessions, and SO much more. Every movement has taught me that our joy is intertwined with our fight to remain. Through it all, I've developed gratitude for UofA Students and our culture. I am running off the principles of community, diversity, and growth that are critical for Students to thrive and succeed. Most importantly, I am running for us, in all the forms the word can take. As your next ASUA Student Body President, I will prioritize the following goals: Safety, Culture, Basic Needs, and most importantly OUR Voice. Safety means making sure Students feel secure on campus. I will ensure this by expanding Safe Ride, improving safety resources, and creating more open conversations with campus safety that center Students concerns. I will also work with Survivor Advocacy to expand sexual assault awareness and harm reduction resources on campus. Culture under my leadership means strengthening Cultural Resource Centers, increasing ASUA support for cultural programming & events, and making sure Students know about access to the communities and resources available. Basic Needs means protecting essential programs that Students rely on, expanding access to hygiene resources, and improving the accessibility of mental health support and services. I also plan to establish greater support for First Generation college Students through the cultural centers. And most importantly, Our Voice means making sure Student concerns are actually heard. I plan on working with the Student Regent and creating opportunities for Students to share their needs before Arizona Board of Regents meetings and ensuring our priorities are clearly represented. Together, we can protect what makes the UofA strong, our community, our diversity, and our future. I’m ready as your next ASUA Student Body President to fight for us. |
Executive Vice President
Image
Hello Wildcats! My name is Aparna Chandrasekar, and I am honored to be running for your student body Executive Vice President. With a diverse campus comes a wider array of issues faced by our students, and as a dedicated student leader, I want to advocate for solutions to the problems plaguing the student body. The University of Arizona is filled with bright and hardworking individuals, and I hope to represent students to their greatest potential. The past few years have been a challenging time for our university, as us wildcats have faced immense pressure and a lack of support from the university to help us succeed at our goals. As Executive Vice President, my priority will be to empower our students and advocate for greater change on campus to combat concerns about safety, financial struggles, and a startling lack of transparency between administration and students. For the past two years, I have served as a senator for our student government, where I have strived to improve club engagement and establish community building opportunities for students. I plan to take these responsibilities to the next level over the next year as your Executive Vice President, where my goal will be to empower our new senate body to pass effective legislations that better the quality of the student experience. Our senate holds great power to foster positive change, and I hope to lead this team of talented individuals in a direction that pushes for improved safety measures and increased opportunities for our students. As a past senator, I have also witnessed the importance of clubs to the University of Arizona student experience by observing club appropriations meetings, where I have seen the struggle behind distributing a limited amount of funds to an abundance of clubs in need. As such, I plan to champion for increased funding for our organizations, so we can ensure that financial limitations do not prevent students from accomplishing their dreams. My voice will be used to amplify student voices during budget discussions for the University so our student groups can excel in their given fields. Above all, as a member of your student government executive team, I want to be your spokesperson during discussions with faculty about student concerns. The people who can best understand the need for student-based change are the students themselves, and I hope to foster an inclusive environment where all students feel heard and represented by fellow students as well as administration. It is essential that our university administrators listen to student concerns in order to improve on the student experience, and as your Executive Vice President, I will push for meaningful change that creates less of a divide between the visions of the students and administrators. I look forward to serving you all and making impactful changes that better our university for future generations of wildcats. As always, bear down! - Aparna Chandrasekar |
Administrative Vice President
Image
Hey Wildcats! My name is Kennedy Jennings and I am running for Administrative Vice President to turn your voice into the hope and future students have been asking for. Your voice must be heard and be acted on. I am a sophomore, double majoring in Public Affairs (Public Policy Emphasis) and Criminal Justice Studies, while being a proud student in the WA Franke Honors College. On campus I have had the honor of serving as a member of the ASUA Presidential Cabinet as the Events Director, a Social and Behavioral Science Ambassador, a founding member of the Kappa Alpha Pi Pre-Law & Government Fraternity, a member of the Kappa Alpha Theta Sorority, and a Kindness Ambassador. I have a long history in student government and public service. Public service is a passion of mine. Leadership is a privilege. The students at the University of Arizona deserve to be lead by leaders who display acts of honesty, integrity, and transparency. Times are tough, and to be left behind because your student leaders will not act in your best interest is not the way to persevere. The University needs leaders who are honest and up front with those they represent. The UofA community needs a leader who is always doing the right thing for those they serve. The students deserve clarity when conflict arises. Students need a leader who is ready to work as part of a team with their fellow elected/appointed leaders. Everyone needs support that is flexible and adaptable. This is the bare minimum, and I’m ready to exceed on all of these levels and more. While working in ASUA, my motivation has grown to serve the student body on a higher level. Every student will feel as valued as the next. ASUA has much to offer every student in some way, shape, or form. The programs of ASUA are a vital part of student life providing basic needs, transportation, and more. These programs and services must be supported, promoted, and altered to the students’ needs. I understand not every student faces the same needs at the same time. I will help you find your support, resources, and home at the UofA. My motivation is driven by the concerns and dreams of the students at this university, and it is time you all see your voice being acted upon. As a student I understand the worries and struggles of safety, finances, mental health, and basic needs. As a leader I’m ready to find solutions. As your Administrative Vice President, I will serve you with my honesty, integrity, and transparency. Along with my devotion and support of all ASUA programs and services, I pledge to always act in the best interest of the students. I pledge to find new ways to support every student through our current services of ASUA and new services to come. Your Voice. My Commitment. Bear Down, Wildcats! “The best way to find yourself is to lose yourself in the service of others.” - Mahatma Gandhi Kennedy Jennings |
At Large Senator
Image
My name is Katelyn Alvarado, and I’m a second-year Political Science and Law major running to be your ASUA Senator-at-Large. I’m running because students deserve real representation; leaders who listen, advocate, and follow through. As a first-generation college student, I understand how overwhelming college can feel when you’re navigating it for the first time without a guide. Many students are balancing classes, jobs, family responsibilities, and personal challenges, all while trying to find their place on campus. Too often, those realities go unheard. Those experiences are what shaped my passion for advocacy and my commitment to ensuring that student voices are not just acknowledged but taken seriously. As Senator-at-Large, my goal is to be a visible, approachable, and reliable voice for students across campus. Whether concerns involve campus safety, mental health resources, academic accessibility, or the overall campus culture, I want students to know they have someone willing to speak up on their behalf. Leadership starts with listening, but it doesn’t end there; it requires action and accountability. That’s why advocacy is not just something I’m interested in; it’s something I’m deeply passionate about and committed to pursuing. Creating a safe and inclusive campus is one of my top priorities. Every student deserves to feel safe walking across campus, attending class, or getting involved. I am committed to supporting policies and initiatives that prioritize student safety, well-being, and accessibility while ensuring that all voices are valued. Another priority of mine is creating a more connected and engaged campus environment. The university should extend beyond the classroom by offering spaces where students feel encouraged to participate, collaborate, and build community. I want to help create opportunities that allow students to connect through meaningful events and student-driven initiatives. As someone passionate about advocacy and service, serving as Senator-at-Large would allow me to put those values into action by supporting initiatives that strengthen the community, increase accessibility, and improve the student experience. I’m running to help create a University of Arizona where students feel connected, supported, and confident that they belong. |
Image
Students of the University of Arizona, I am running for Senator At Large because I care deeply about university initiatives that make a positive impact on the student body, especially students who are underrepresented or facing challenges that often go unseen. Students deserve stronger support in areas of basic needs, more inclusive programs, clearer communication from the administration, and leadership that actively advocates for their concerns, especially when external matters threaten the accessibility of our education and experience at the University of Arizona. My platform stands on honesty, transparency, accessibility, inclusion, and community building. These values I hold deep in my heart; they are reflected in how I serve my campus communities every day. As a Campus Pantry volunteer, I have seen firsthand how important basic needs resources are and the stigma that may come along with it. As a Student Alumni Ambassador, I have learned the value of connection, pride for the University of Arizona, and the traditions that strengthen our unique university. As DEI chairman of Sigma Nu and President of SMORES Sophomore Honorary; I have worked with students from diverse backgrounds, learned to listen, lead, and turn ideas into action. Campus engagement is a major priority of mine. I want to help create and maintain large-scale events where students feel welcomed, connected, and at home at the University of Arizona. I am also committed to expanding advocacy for basic needs and student concerns to ensure every student is supported and cared for. Representation matters in all areas, and I believe Senators must actively seek out student voices from the general body to address and concerns that we, the students of University of Arizona, have. I plan to accomplish all of this by collaborating closely with student organizations through attending club meetings, engaging with students on different parts of campus, and taking feedback anywhere I can get it. I will work alongside the university administration and departments across campus to ensure student concerns are not only communicated, but acted upon. Most importantly, I am committed to execution and sustainability: building initiatives that will last beyond my term and serve for life. I am a Wildcat, just like you all. I am deeply involved and passionate about the University of Arizona, and even more committed to making a meaningful difference for our home. I promise to not only meet, but exceed student expectations. |

Greetings all, I am writing to express my strong interest in the ASUA Senator At Large Position for the 2026-2027 academic year. As a student majoring in Pharm Sci along with a Speech, Language, and Hearing Sciences minor, I have developed a huge interest in student advocacy, community involvement, and collaborative leadership in which qualities that align closely with what makes the U of A student government a safe and strong place. Through my academic involvement, extensive volunteer work, and student organization leadership, I am determined to have the ability to meet each student’s voice. My experience as a Pre-Professions Peer Advisor has allowed me to work closely with students pursuing health and law professions, guiding them through academic pathways, connecting them to essential campus resources, and maintaining accurate and confidential case documentation. These responsibilities have strengthened my communication skills, patience, and ability to advocate for individual student needs. This role has shown me the value of listening first, responding with clarity, and ensuring every student feels seen—qualities that directly align with the expectations of a Senator-at-Large. Additionally, my volunteer work at Banner University Medical Center Tucson—both in the Postpartum & Antepartum Unit and within Volunteer Services—has shaped my sense of professionalism, reliability, and service. I regularly assist with patient flow, administrative operations, phone communication, and maintaining safe and welcoming environments. Serving patients, families, and hospital staff has taught me how essential dependability, compassion, and teamwork are when supporting a diverse community. These experiences have reinforced my commitment to creating inclusive spaces where individuals feel heard, respected, and supported during moments of need. My leadership involvement as an ASUA Liaison for the Pre-Pharmacy Club has strengthened my understanding of student government processes, resource accessibility, and campus-wide collaboration. In this role, I help bridge communication between ASUA, ASP, and club members—an experience that have prepared me to serve effectively as a representative for the broader student body. If selected as Senator-at-Large, I hope to focus on remaining barriers that limit access to campus resources, improving communication between ASUA and students across all colleges, and supporting initiatives that enhance student well-being and belonging. I am eager to bring my service-driven mindset, leadership experience, and commitment to equity to the ASUA team. Thank you for considering my application. I would be honored to contribute to ASUA’s mission and advocate for the needs of Wildcats across the Tucson campus. I welcome the opportunity to discuss my qualifications further. |
College of Architecture, Planning and Landscape Architecture
Image
Hello Everyone, My name is Diego Sebestian Del Villar, a first generation and majoring in architecture. Raised in a religious home, I only believed in God for my own selfish desires. My ambitions were self-centered: gain status at any cost and become the best version of myself. However, as I continued to enrich myself with God and the Bible my mentality shifted, realizing that the only thing I wanted, being able to boast about my success, was meaningless. On the surface, this sounds genuine however I wanted all the glory for myself, with no credit given to anyone who helped or gave me opportunities, including God. I wanted to be like a sparkling mansion that was shiny, bright, and big from the outside, yet rather cold and empty inside. A perfect person all on my own. I went through life blinded by this illusion of perfection. The illusion was shattered when reading a parable within John 15: “Love one another as I have loved you” This served as a dogmatic change in my path. I decided to show love through everything I do, but not for the applause of others. To love God is to love others. Therefore, my new ambition strives to show gratitude and honor to all the people who have helped me achieve outstanding things and be able to give back to the community that gave me these resources. I once was a person who lived only for himself, but I have transformed into living for others, who strives to serve not to be served. Thereby, with great honor I announce my candidacy to run for senator of the college of architecture, planning, and landscape architecture (CAPLA). My mission is to represent with integrity, to serve with compassion, to collaborate with others, and to pursue excellence in all aspects of my candidacy. Providing a way for everyone with the ability to create, discover, and play. Provide a sense of belonging for everyone even if it's hard at times. To represent us as CAPLA students on the ASUA Senate, because this is the way to influence and communicate with the community to improve our society of students at the University of Arizona and in Tucson. Alongside, working with the Dean of Students to be able to learn about the problems related to students and help develop solutions to such problems not just to our students at CAPLA but to all students on campus. Additionally by planning community events, wellness workshops, collaboration with different colleges to spark interdisciplinary careers, and to support the rest of the university. So “lets design a better future, together” |
College of Agriculture and Life Science Senator
Image
Growing up surrounded by agriculture is where I learned to love and appreciate things for what they were and the beauty that came with them. I have always considered myself a woman of agriculture due to growing up with animals, and coming from a production family. This is how I found my passion and my place in this beloved industry. I am endlessly inspired by the brave men and women that work tirelessly in the agricultural industry which is what pushed me to pursue a degree under the College of Agriculture, Life, & Environmental Sciences. I am proud to be a first generation student and will always claim the title with pride, as I believe it is the greatest opportunity of my life to fulfill a higher education. Everyday that I spend on campus I grow more and more grateful and I try to make the most of this experience. Each day I try to make my time at the University of Arizona the absolute best, I am determined to do the same for my fellow students. I am a very emotionally driven individual and I seek truth, goodness, and beauty from all that I cross paths with. I think one of the best things to do for yourself, is being your true self while also striving for excellence and striving to be the best version of yourself. I believe that serving the community and being a voice for the people are some of the most important things in life. Advocating for myself and others is something that I will always strive to do. The day that I learned how powerful my voice is, was the day that my perspective on life changed and when I realized how crucial it is to speak about matters that are important to you. I am running for the position of Senator for the College of Agriculture, Life, & Environmental Sciences because I truly believe I can make a difference in the community and create a safe space where students can rely on me to make change. I believe I am more than capable of fulfilling the duties and responsibilities that come with the position given to me. I live to serve and give back to the community that has already given so much to me. I strongly believe I can be a great asset to any program that I am accepted into as I am stable, reliable and someone who is eager to advocate for my beloved community. |
College of Education Senator
Image
My name is Raya Jefferson, and I am running for ASUA Senate to represent the College of Education because I believe deeply in community, connection, and advocacy for students. Originally from Chicago, Illinois, I came to the University of Arizona seeking opportunity, belonging, and purpose. Through my journey here, I have learned how powerful access to mentorship, resources, and supportive relationships can be. These experiences shaped my desire to lead and serve. I currently serve as a College of Education Ambassador, Vice Chair of the Dean’s Advisory Board, and a member of the College of Education Student Council. Through these roles, I have been trusted with leadership responsibilities, and I strive to ensure that student voices are heard and represented. My decision to run for Senate is rooted in my passion for strengthening our College of Education community. As future educators, counselors, and leaders, we deserve strong support systems and meaningful opportunities to connect with one another and with faculty. I want to help create intentional spaces where students can build relationships, share experiences, and feel truly supported. One of my main goals is to advocate for consistent career readiness resources within COE. This includes working toward regular career support days where students can access resume assistance, interview preparation, and free professional headshots. These tools are essential for preparing students for life beyond graduation, yet they are not always easily accessible. I am also passionate about exploring a graduation gown rental service for College of Education students. Graduation should be a celebration, not a financial burden. By advocating for rental access, I hope to help reduce stress and increase equity for students who may otherwise struggle with the cost of regalia. Through my experience as a student ambassador and representing COE at campus events, I have seen how impactful education is — yet how often education majors lack visibility across the university. I want to amplify our voices and highlight teaching as a powerful, creative profession that connects us across cultures, communities, and lived experiences. At the heart of my leadership is service. I believe learning is one of our greatest blessings, and I love learning from my peers and working collaboratively to help one another grow. My approach is grounded in listening, empathy, and action. I am committed to advocating for students, building bridges between faculty and peers, and ensuring that our College of Education community feels seen, valued, and supported. If elected, I will bring dedication, compassion, and action-oriented leadership to ASUA Senate. Together, we can strengthen our community, expand access to resources, and ensure that College of Education students have a strong voice at the University of Arizona. |
College of Engineering Senator
Image
Hello, my name is Nya Fludzinski. I am running to be your College of Engineering Senator for the 2026-2027 term! I am double majoring in Intelligence & Information Operations in the College of Engineering and Criminal Justice in the College of Social & Behavioral Sciences. Growing up, my family moved a lot, giving me the opportunity to live in three different states and two different countries. These experiences have encouraged openness, introduced new perspectives, and helped me become more curious. I approached U of A with this mindset of trying new things and learning from others. At U of A, I have gotten actively engaged in a number of pursuits, which collectively have given me the opportunity to engage with peers, professors & mentors from different backgrounds and majors, work within the Tucson community, and hear many unique and important perspectives. A few of my current involvements include Phi Alpha Delta Pre-Law Fraternity, Team Awareness Combatting Overdose (TACO), and SMORES Sophomore Honorary. My participation has been engaging, rewarding and has deepened my interest to get even more involved. As students, our goals, dreams, and aspirations for our future are of top priority, and U of A is a critical partner on our journey. I see my role as Senator as a means to optimize that partnership. If elected Senator, I plan to prioritize: a) student voice, b) student choice and c) advocating for diversity and inclusion. I want to ensure that the students’ voices are heard, and opinions are considered when the University is making key decisions. I believe it is crucial that students are at the forefront of these discussions and dialed into the important conversations. I plan to solicit feedback directly, advocate on the senate, and facilitate student forums with key college influencers, club advisors and administrators (such as Dean Hahn). As key stakeholders, students deserve to have an active and strong influence within the College of Engineering and community as a whole. My second goal is to ensure that both students and faculty have ownership in important choices about the focus/direction of their studies. Faculty bring wisdom and experience; students bring curiosity, new ideas, and together, we achieve those goals. Let’s ensure that in a rapidly changing world, students and faculty are aligned in the shaping of the curriculum, and allocating research dollars in ways that optimize the needs and experiences for students today and in the future. More broadly, my third priority is ensuring efforts to promote diversity and inclusion within our school continue. With the consolidation of cultural resources into the Student Culture & Engagement Hub, it will be increasingly important to develop other avenues for students to feel supported, no matter who they are. As things continue to change in our school and country, I want to ensure our students know our campus is a safe and welcoming place, that our collective voices and presence here are critical to the success of our community as a whole. Vote Nya Fludzinski - For YOUR Voice, Choice, and Representation. |
College of Medicine Senator
Hello everyone! My name is Alexander Jauregui Galarza, and I am a junior majoring in Medicine with an emphasis in Integrative and Practice-Focused Medicine. This semester, I’m excited for the opportunity to build upon the progress we’ve made and continue serving as your College of Medicine Senator. As I moved through my journey here at the College of Medicine, I got to pick up on many issues that could be worked on as a college. Much of it seems to be centered around two things, community and access to opportunities. With some of the largest majors on campus, it can be easy to get lost. As a senator, I’ve been able to promote more student involvement to build those connections. With great successes hosting the Pre-Health Fair, we’ve managed not only to change the tradition of having one Pre-Health Fair per year, to one every semester, as well as doubling the number of students, clubs, and organizations in attendance from previous years. But there’s still more ahead, with greater involvement not only across clubs, but within our own College. Having experience with all things ASUA, I hope to further share that knowledge of ways we can help all students. To maintain a point of communication for all related clubs and organizations. Helping them navigate the ASUA process when it comes to support, resources, and club funding from which I serve as a director for, approving tens of thousands of dollars for our Pre-Health Clubs and our Pre-Health Fair. Another big focus of mine is our libraries, especially our own Health Sciences Library (HSL). A priority of mine that stems from the complaints of students is to advocate for more low-sensory environments, especially when it comes to study spaces. Being able to provide this need for students is overlooked, where many library spaces can become a mix of loud, bright, crowded, or open spaces, especially during finals and midterms. Students require and deserve a break from the stress and reality throughout the year and implementing these spaces would be a big help. After meeting with the Dean of Libraries, we are in talks of implementing a pilot program at HSL for this low-sensory study environment. Beyond this I am working so that HSL is accessible after hours and ensuring our college undergraduates continue to have 24/7 access to this wonderful resource. Other initiatives I am working on include tackling price gouging at on-campus markets, establishing a Health Sciences Park, offering new classes through our college such as Medical Terminology (a prerequisite for many health professions), updating resource lists on UofA websites, Lab Equipment rental program, free MCAT Prep Books offering, mentorship programs with med students, pedestrian safety, and ensuring fairness in ‘weed-out’ classes. However, I do anticipate and hope that my goals will continue to evolve and grow as I hear more and more from other students. Thank you all for considering me as the senator that represents you, your voice in ASUA. Warm regards, Alex |
College of Science Senator
Image
Hello! My name is Tony Ruggerello, and I’m running to be your 2026-2027 College of Science Senator! I am a Bachelor of Science in Psychology major with a minor in Business administrations. Throughout my time here at the University of Arizona, I have been involved here on campus. A big part of my involvement has been in the Greek life community. Since I was a freshman, I have come to love this community and all it has to offer. I became a member of Sigma Nu and since then have held 2 Executive Board positions, from the first being Recorder(secretary) and my current role as Vice President of the Sigma Nu fraternity. I also hold a role within Sigma Nu’s National fraternity as an Advisor to their board of directors known as the High Council. With this, I have gained invaluable leadership experience and discovered the concept of others before own, the truth of a rising tide lifts all boats. As a deep rooted belief, College of Science majors are here to change this world for the better. We cover a wide range of majors and revolutionize how we grow the world by feeding our environment's strength, changing production values for the better, and growing ourselves and others personally for the betterment of society. In order to continue this level of strength from our college, I aim to continue to share more early experience for our members to gain that early access internships even as freshman and sophomores, get these out early and constantly so our members may have time to apply in the grind that is a college of Science major, and create more opportunities for us to thrive here at the U of A together. When any of us win, we all win! Communication with all of our college of science groups here at the U of A is critical to our total success, as I aim to gather input from all of them to utilize my platform best to cover all of their needs throughout the year. From college of Science honoraries, to Clubs, as well as College of Science brothers and sisters within the Greek life community as well. This will be achieved through regular communication with all groups officers as well as regularly attending meetings and organized events hosted by these groups to continue to expand my knowledge on what these groups need in order to succeed in this life. Finalizing this, direct consistent communication with the Dean of Students College of Science and the Dean of Students as a whole is critical to the succession of us, as I will be in direct communication with both the Deans to ensure our needs are met as a whole community! We are a strong college, and as your senator I will continue to take our college to the next level and allow us many opportunities to thrive here during our time at the University of Arizona. Thank you for your consideration, and GO CATS! |
The Nel & Enid Zuckerman College of Public Health Senator
Image
My name is Savannah Alvarez, and I am a Sophomore at the University of Arizona from Nogales, Arizona, majoring in Public Health with an emphasis in Health Promotion. Public health is important to me not only because of what I am learning in the classroom, but because of the community I come from. Growing up in a small border town shaped how I understand health, access to care, and the everyday challenges many communities face. Living in Nogales allowed me to see firsthand how factors such as limited resources, education, and access to culturally appropriate care can impact overall health and well-being. These experiences inspired my interest in public health and motivated me to focus on health promotion, prevention, and community outreach. I believe public health should always center the people it serves, and this belief continues to guide my academic and personal goals. I am running for College of Public Health Senator because I want to represent students and ensure their voices are heard. Through my involvement in student organizations, leadership roles, and organizing campus initiatives, including philanthropy events, I have learned the importance of listening, collaboration, and advocacy. I am especially passionate about advocating for students who will go on to become future public health leaders and advocates, and I believe student leadership plays a critical role in preparing us for that responsibility. If elected, I hope to focus on increasing awareness of wellness and mental health resources, supporting initiatives that promote both physical and mental health, and encouraging greater student engagement within the College of Public Health. I am also interested in helping connect students with local nonprofit organizations in Tucson and creating opportunities for meaningful community engagement and service. I am approachable, motivated, committed to listening to students and bringing their concerns forward. I would be honored to serve as a College of Public Health Senator and work toward strengthening our college community while representing the students who make it what it is. Thank you Savannah Alvarez |
R. Ken Coit College of Pharmacy Senator
Image
Hello, my name is Reese Wick, and I am running for Senator of the College of Pharmacy. My interest in pharmacy began at a young age, watching close family members navigate chronic illness and realizing how powerful access to medication, education, and support can be in someone’s life. Those experiences shaped my passion for healthcare advocacy, particularly in improving how communities understand and access treatment for chronic illness, addiction, and other conditions that often carry stigma or limited resources. Because of this, service has always been central to what I do, and I want to bring that same mindset to how I represent students within the College of Pharmacy. Currently, I am a sophomore pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Pharmaceutical Sciences. I also serve as a general chemistry preceptor, volunteer in a research laboratory, and participate in several student organizations focused on service and outreach. Through these experiences, I have learned that leadership begins with listening: understanding different perspectives, communicating clearly, and creating environments where people feel comfortable sharing their ideas. Working closely with students and team members has also strengthened my ability to adapt when challenges arise and speak up when meaningful change is needed. As senator, my focus will be strengthening opportunity access and connection within the College of Pharmacy. I want to collaborate with student organizations, faculty, and administration to make research, internships, and volunteer opportunities easier to find and more widely shared. This includes creating centralized opportunity guides, hosting informational sessions, and organizing pharmacy-focused health outreach events such as student-led health fairs. These initiatives would allow students to gain hands-on experience while also serving the broader community, reflecting my commitment to healthcare advocacy and community engagement. In addition, I am passionate about helping bridge the separation that currently exists between undergraduate, PhD, and PharmD students. By supporting cross-program networking events, mentorship opportunities, and collaborative college-wide initiatives, I hope to create more spaces where students can learn from one another and feel part of a unified College of Pharmacy. In essence, I am running for senator because I care deeply about the future of our College of Pharmacy and the students who make it what it is. I am committed to being a representative who communicates openly, follows through on projects, and works alongside students to strengthen a college environment where opportunities are visible, collaboration is encouraged, and every student feels supported in their journey. I would be honored to earn your vote and to serve our community. |
Eller College of Management Senator

My name is Olivia Sobczak, and I am honored to announce my candidacy for the Eller College of Management Senator. As Senator, I pledge to prioritize student voices and ensure communication is made clear and accessible. I am incredibly passionate about ensuring that resources and professional opportunities are made equitably available for all Eller students, serving as motivation for my campaign. As I am in my junior year, I have amply observed opportunities offered both by and within the Eller College of Management, including professional programs, internships, and on-campus clubs. However, throughout my experience as an upper-division student, I have recognized the difficulties students experience in initially obtaining, and even learning, about these opportunities. In this position, I hope to improve the standard of communication, so Eller students of all backgrounds are supported in pursuing campus involvement and leadership roles. Additionally, I am committed to ensuring abundant education of these opportunities for Pre-Business and transfer students. Being a First-Generation American, I understand the difficulty in entering a novel, unfamiliar collegiate environment with uncertainty in direction in becoming involved on campus; I plan to serve as the relentless advocate for Eller students, guiding students from all different backgrounds to success, through Professional Admissions and beyond. Furthermore, I envision a future for Eller students where personal and professional assistance is heavily offered, promoted, and encouraged. Extensive resources and student support services exist on campus, including but not limited to CAPS, SafeRide, the Pride Alliance, the SALT Center, the Basic Needs Coalition, and the Center for Career Readiness. Yet despite their availability, students remain unsure of how to access them. I plan to deliberately advance this communication, dedicating my service to directly connecting all Eller students to substantial, satisfactory resources needed to support their academic journeys and career success. Lastly, I hope to implement greater educational emphasis on interdisciplinary approaches to education and personal development within Eller. Professional development opportunities exist beyond the span of Eller’s oversight, through clubs, on-campus work, and even research. I am a major proponent of interdisciplinary exploration, and I encourage student involvement in fields beyond the scope of their chosen academic discipline. As the Eller College of Management Senator, I will dedicate my service to ensuring these opportunities are directly connected to Eller students, encouraging opportunities for success and application of learned business knowledge in all prospective fields. I am deeply committed to prioritizing communication of resources and opportunistic development to Eller students of all backgrounds, on personal and professional levels. It is important to me to create and promote open dialogue and effective implementation of resource accessibility and student advocacy, prioritizing student needs above all. Fostering interpersonal connections is a philosophy I have carried throughout my life, which I commit to upholding in this role. I pledge to maintain accountability in this position to ensure that your needs are met, and your voices are heard. I am beyond grateful for this opportunity, and I thank you for your consideration.
