President

Hey Wildcats! My name is Patrick Robles and I am running to be your next ASUA Student-Body President. Culture and community is what I am about. I was born and raised in the Southside of Tucson, Arizona. As a first-generation college student, that Wildcat spirit has always followed me throughout my life, going to UA football games with my family reminded me of how sacred this campus is to all and what there is to fight for. If you elect me as your next ASUA Student-Body President let's build community and and uplift an inclusive culture for all.
Here is what I will fight for:
Government accessibility and transparency- because I know how frustrating it is to have a government that doesn't work for you.
24/7 libraries- because I know how it feels to lack resources crucial to achieving success. You should be able to study and access on-campus resources at any time of day.
Mental Health care- because all students should be able to thrive here and get the help that we deserve. Lets expand access to quality resources.
Greater voice and representation for cultural centers and BIPOC communities- because I know what it feels like to see a government that doesn't reflect the people.
Wildcats, this is our campus and this is our time. I would be honored to fight for you as our next ASUA Student-Body President. Feel free to reach out to me if you have any concerns or ideas. Let's create a campus that we can be proud of. Vote Patrick Robles.
Bear down.
Executive Vice President

Hello! My name is Nico Nieri-Lang and I am running for the position of Executive Vice President in the Associated Students at the University of Arizona. I'm running to make sure that all UA students, current and future, have a voice in shaping their own and our collective college and on-campus experience by using the vast resources, programs and opportunities available, but not always known about or used.
Having been a part of many clubs on campus I have seen the inclusivity and sense of community that students on this campus can build and I want to be the leader and advocate to whom these clubs and organizations can look to receive the help and resources they need to continue this great work. With my experiences over the past three years, I feel that I am incredibly capable of effectively advocating for the needs and wants of the UA student body and the many clubs and student organization on campus. We can always do better, which is why I want to continue to expand the outreach of the ASUA and spread awareness to the student body that it is the greatest resource for the student government leaders, clubs, and organizations to make this university a better place, and to create the best Wildcat experience for all students. I am excited for the opportunity to spearhead this effort.
I feel passionate about making ASUA speak for ALL students on campus and having those voices heard and needs reflected in future administrative decisions. I am also running to further bolster support for the incredibly valuable on campus programs that not only ensure that students survive, but that they thrive. Just to name a few, Campus Pantry, CAPS, Campus Closet, money for housing, all provide students with the material needs necessary to thrive. It is my belief that support for campus services should be expanded and strengthened, yet these services are nothing, without equal access to them. Making sure that the entire student body is aware of the incredible opportunities and resources available, while also ensuring equal access to them, is essential to creating a positive culture for our university, and the Wildcat experience all students deserve.
Administrative Vice President

Hello Wildcats! My name is Kaleb Nichols and I’m running to be your AVP. My goals for the next year are to:
1. Improve government transparency. Most students don’t realize that the ASUA office is open to the student body, and I hope to promote engagement by getting more people to the office! I also recognize that we need to come to you, so I’ll make it a priority to get to know you and your clubs by attending events!
2. Work to increase representation. I’ll work with the House of Representatives to ensure that initiatives that relate to the cultural centers are a central part of the work we do as executives.
3. Continue the fight for mental health resources. This year’s ASUA group did good work in advancing this issue, but I believe we can build off of what has been done to do even more for the student body.
4. Ensure study spaces for students who need them. With the libraries no longer open 24/7, protecting and expanding areas for students to study is critical. I’ll work to provide these resources.
5. Improve sustainability. We use far too many single-use plastics at the Student Union and beyond. I’ll continue to fight to change that and move our UofA community towards sustainability.
At Large Senator

When I came to UA in 2020, I had no idea how much I would enjoy school – even in a small dorm room while attending classes via Zoom. This year – with fewer restrictions – has only reinforced how important these years are and how much we should leverage all the University offers to students who want to learn and grow. As I continue to grow at the UA, I believe staying active and involved in extracurricular activities are important to maintaining a full college experience. Throughout my time as a Wildcat, I have tackled challenges and faced adversity, but I have always been able to lean on involvement within the UArizona community.
I am a firm believer that when a student pays their college tuition, they are not only paying for classes, but they are paying for everything our campus community offers. We are a campus with an incredibly diverse population – racial, ethnic and political diversity, among others – which presents a unique opportunity for students to experience and understand what life is like away from home and in a new community. It is a network that offers something for every interest under the moon and prepares us for the next phase of our lives. Students should leverage the opportunity to become immersed in it.
I hope to encourage my fellow students to utilize (and enjoy) this unique community the same way I have. I readily admit there is much I can learn about student government but considering the range of activities I am involved with and connections I have made, I believe I represent a diverse cross-section of the student body and would be honored to serve as an At-Large Senator.
College of Pharmacy Senator

My name is Arianna Camargo and I am excited to be running for the 2022-2023 R. Ken Coit College of Pharmacy senator. With the College of Pharmacy being a recent addition to the ASUA senate, if elected as senator I plan to continue expanding the communication and involvement of the College of Pharmacy within ASUA. My platform this year revolves around the idea of improving resource accessibility for career development within the major as well as increasing the awareness of mental health resources for all. With these initiatives taking place, it will allow the University of Arizona students to have access to all the tools they need in order to be successful upon graduating and furthering their journey in life. If elected, I will be committed to representing the students of my college this upcoming year in the best way possible!
College of Engineering Senator

There’s a sense of camaraderie that incapsulates what it truly means to be a student in the College of Engineering. Through my campaign, I hope to lift up the voices of the leaders within this college and fight for a more unified community. One that focuses on interdisciplinary feats and creates a more equitable environment. To do so, I plan on building an engineering wide newsletter that gets sent out to all students within the college. I also want to implement industry events that include professional speakers and opportunities for student engagement across multiple disciplines.
College of Optical Sciences Senator

Given the opportunity to represent the College of Optical Sciences, I would work primarily to foster open communication between students and faculty to create the optimal undergraduate experience. Additionally, I would support existing organizations within the college that work to engage students and that promote a diverse and inclusive environment. Finally, I hope to be an advocate for student resources and student support by voicing the concerns of the undergraduate community.
College of Medicine-Tucson Senator

Hello, my name is Amal Anilkumar and I am a junior at the University of Arizona majoring in Physiology with a minor in Biochemistry. I am running for the College of Medicine- Tucson Senator, and there are a number of initiatives that I hope to undertake if provided this prestigious opportunity.
I have gathered throughout my time here at the university that mental health and certain stigma have been significant issues with many students who plan on pursuing rigorous careers in their futures. With the workload that comes with certain courses as well as extracurriculars that may prove to be time consuming, I firmly believe that there should be easily accessible sources of support for students to retain their mindfulness, having the easy access to CAPS and other resources without having to undergo the scrutiny of their peers. I also believe having easier access to physical recreation opportunities are crucial to one's mental state, and I want to be able to work with Campus Recreation to work a more accessible plan for those who are just starting to learn how to be physically well.
Other facets of our university and community that I would like to improve on include community outreach and engagement within the College of Medicine. With our university providing more events that benefit both students and the Tucson community, including philanthropic events that can potentially be coordinated with other clubs on campus, I believe this would be an excellent method to improving student engagement while improving the Tucson community. Events can include food and/or clothing drives, volunteer events, etc. With regards to interactions within the College of Medicine, I believe many students will benefit from events that may involve both undergraduate and graduate students in the college. This can include more in-person involvement with research labs on campus, and collaborative events between the undergraduate physiology department and the MD program in the University of Arizona.
One more initiative that I would like to pursue in, if not already being undertaken, is the food insecurity on campus. There are the issues of expensive meal plans for incoming freshmen that can lead to negative impacts on diet and physical well-being, and I would like to work towards a healthier plan that benefits our students physically and financially. This can include changes to food court options, such as the ones present at Highland Market and 85 North, and potential extra meal plan options.
I would like to pursue some or all of these issues, which can be improved even further within our university with the help of the ASUA Senate and collaborators. Thanks to ASUA for providing students with this opportunity, and I hope to be your College of Medicine- Tucson Senator!
College of Public Health Senator

Hi there! I’m Chloe Craig and I am excited for the opportunity to become the Mel and Enid Zuckerman College of Public Health (MEZCOPH) Senator for the 2022-2023 school year. I am a junior majoring in Public Health with an emphasis in Global Health and a minor in Chemistry. Since coming to the University of Arizona as an out of state student, I have felt impassioned to be involved on campus, create new initiatives for students surrounding their health, and be active in various public health volunteering organizations in Tucson. I have learned so much about how crucial public health resources are to offer support for students throughout all aspects of their academic and personal growth. If elected to serve as the MEZCOPH Senator I plan on working directly with the college to best serve my fellow students and bridge gaps that exist surrounding resources available on the Health Sciences Campus by listening to the community through the creation of a MEZCOPH student survey. My goals include fostering a more inclusive community, providing students with access to more events and public health services, and creating an alumni outreach system to promote engagement within undergraduates. Bear Down!
Eller College of Management Senator
As a representative of the prestigious Eller College of Management, the most important value that will be driving my decisions would be integrity. Like Karl Eller said, "Make integrity your moral compass." I want to help each and every member of the community to expand their potential and be a key resource for them throughout the process. I would be able to give suggestions and help them succeed not only professionally as well as personally. Another key aspect of my duties would be striving for representation and diversity. As a woman of color myself, I want implement strategies and initiatives that promote inclusion within the Eller family. I want to hear from all how can I add the most value to their college experience. I aim to be approachable so that people know that voices are being heard and they can always reach out with any and every questions. I truly believe that we have an amazing family at Eller, and we can help each other to the best versions of ourselves.
College of Fine Arts Senator

Two years ago, I ran for ASUA with the goals of promoting inter-school community within the College of Fine Arts and crating more spaces for student artists to share their work. Thanks to the support of CFA students and administration we've accomplished those goals. I've had the privilege of directing our CFA Lead + Understudy Peer Mentorship program in its first year and I'm excited to expand and improve it for next year! Almost 70 students from the four schools registered this year. Some paired within their own major to receive guidance from upperclassmen, and many others matched with students across different schools to open up opportunities for collaboration and mutually grow in their artistry! Last year we presented the Virtual Student Showcase, which allowed CFA students to present any work of theirs from quarantine under the Arizona Arts umbrella as a means of gaining professional experience for their portfolio. This year, I've collaborated with leaders from the Students for Sustainability, Wildcat Events Board, and the College of Fine Arts to host an Environmental Arts Celebration in the Center for Creative Photography on Earth Day. All kinds of artwork dedicated to or inspired by the natural world will be on display, from culinary, to musical, fashion, dance, and more. Applications will go out in the coming weeks for students to submit their work. We're also working on a mural project for the ASUA office! This community effort will task School of Art members to consult with various ASUA departments and design one or more murals that represent ASUA and the Wildcat experience. We plan to vote upon this project in the coming weeks and begin designing. At the foundation of my service to the College of Fine Arts and the University of Arizona is a dedication to ensuring students are supported equitably. Senator Elli and I are proud to have met with DEI and Gen-Ed leadership last year so we could author and pass a resolution for Equity in Course Curriculum. I also continue to advocate for access to healthy, affordable, and sustainable food on campus as one of several students advising Student Unions while they attempt to restructure their operations. I'm very proud of these projects and initiatives, but even they are just part of what I've helped accomplish in the last couple years. For my final term, I hope to expand upon our accomplishments and work towards creating new opportunities for student to grow closer with one another and achieve their own success at Arizona!
College of Science Senator

Hi! My name is Sarvesh Paradkar and I am currently a Junior at the University of Arizona majoring in Statistics and Data Science with minors in Chemistry and Finance. Besides being a regular at the main library, I am also involved in the Honorary system, work in an analytical chemistry lab and am a student athlete tutor. I am running for the position of College of Science Senator and here are some of the changes I look forward to making!
Firstly, I would like to ensure everyone has improved access to research positions and is aware of the all the projects going on in their desired field. The research labs on campus have such a wide variety of projects and are always looking for undergraduates to help. I would want to ensure that there is clear communication between professors and students looking to gain research experience to help both sides.
Secondly, I aim to introduce more ways of getting help outside of just office hours and think tank. It isn’t always feasible to attend office hours and there is a need for a better system that offers both virtual and in person help to students who need it. This would be entirely student led and at more convenient times.
Thirdly, I want to provide a chance for college of science students to interact with each other outside of just class. These would be in the form of mixers or other events and would really help develop a sense of companionship amongst our very large college population and give people a chance to network!

As a student in the College of Science (Mathematics BS), College of Social and Behavioral Sciences (Political Science BA), and W.A. Franke Honors College, I have had the unique opportunity to experience the best of what these Colleges have to offer their students at the University of Arizona. With this multifaceted perspective, I hope to better the College of Science by improving upon our strengths while emulating successful programs I have witnessed firsthand in both SBS and Honors.
More specifically, I have noticed distinct cultural differences in the College of Science as compared to my experiences outside of the College. Let’s face it - College of Science students take some of the most rigorous, demanding and sometimes overwhelming courses at the University. This environment - especially during a tumultuous pandemic - has acted as a major stressor for many College of Science students as they work their way towards graduation.
I hope to improve the lives of College of Science students as your Senator by creating a culture where students are no longer afraid of asking for help. Whether that be academic, personal or other kinds of assistance, College of Science students should feel encouraged to look to their College’s professors, faculty, programs and other resources for help. I aspire to transform the current College of Science culture into one that is more responsive and less intimidating to its students during my time in the ASUA Senate.
In order to achieve this outcome, I plan to increase transparency between College of Science administrators, faculty and students. For instance, I admire the Mathematics Department’s hefty and regular information dissemination efforts from advisors to students through methods as simple as email listservs. As your Senator, I hope to expand this administration-to-student information channel both within the Mathematics Department and the greater College of Science. Students deserve equitable and seamless access to important graduate education, career planning, research and internship opportunities and information from our College.
Along a similar vein, I plan to promote a culture of greater diversity, equity and inclusion within the College as your Senator. My experiences as a woman in the College of Science have opened my eyes to the need for improved inclusivity and diversity in both our classrooms and overall program culture in order to create a better learning environment for all College of Science students. I promise to be attentive to the desires and needs of College of Science students regardless of their major, demographic background or other interests in order to work toward my aforementioned plan for improving the College’s culture.
If elected as your College of Science Senator, I promise to serve as your advocate in the ASUA Senate, effectively acting as a liaison between students and College administrators in order to improve the holistic student experience within our incredible College.
College of Social and Behavioral Sciences Senator

Through my various involvements thus far in my undergraduate degree, I have come to refine my passion in advocating for change, whether that by via policies or through amplifying the voices of those who make up my college. My plan for this within SBS is threefold, comprised of three pillars: social equity, sustainability, and visibility. Social equity is of the highest priority for me at all times; working to truly listen and amplify the voices of BIPOC, giving this community a space to exist, network, and collaborate within our college.
Being a public state school as large as ours, I believe the U of A has a duty to implement and encourage environmental sustainability across the campus community whenever possible. I believe there is potential to make a larger impact in resource and waste reduction by collaborating with large institutions on campus such as various colleges like our own, organizations such as Students for Sustainability, and the Greek system.
Finally, improving visibility of both the College of SBS and ASUA and the various programs both of these institutions offer. ASUA and SBS are home to many of the organizations that have enabled me to run for this very position, but I would love to see more students interact with them. Many may not know just how many amazing programs are available for them on campus. t is often the most involved people that continue to seek out involvement, and I would like to change this through outreach efforts to grow engagement.

Hey Wildcats! My name is Amy Gaudet, I’m a Junior in the college of Social and Behavioral Sciences, and I would be honored to be your next Senator. My hope is that if elected, I can increase accessibility, encourage diversity and inclusion, and be a voice for all students at our university.
Communication and Transparency: This will hopefully be my first year serving on ASUA, in large part because when I first started at the U of A, I didn’t really know what it was, or what it did. That’s why as your Senator I want to make it one of my top priorities to make sure that ASUA is a tool and a resource for all students at the university. I was inspired to run earlier this year when I was trying to get funding for one of the organizations I’m a part of on campus, and I didn’t hear back from ASUA until months after the deadline had passed. This issue isn’t unique to me, it affected dozens of different organizations on campus this year. Which is why I want to set a hard deadline for board appointments, and create accountability measures to ensure that requests and concerns from students are heard and dealt with in a timely manner.
Accessibility: The Covid-19 pandemic has exposed the flaws in our universities current accessibility measures. As the university has moved to a hybrid in person modality, students who have to join classes from home have suffered as a result, whether it is because of a lack of access to the necessary technology in their own home, inadequate technology in the classroom, or a lack of training on the part of professors. As your senator for the College of Social and Behavioral sciences, I want to work with you to address these issues as they continue to arise, and create a safe and healthy environment for all of our students.
Diversity and Inclusion: One of the things that make the Wildcat experience so unique is that we are a big tent school, in the sense that we give students from a huge variety of backgrounds the opportunity to gain an education. I want to make sure all students in our college have a platform to share their experiences, and as your Senator I will do everything I can to let those experiences guide me, so that I can be a voice for every student in Social and Behavioral Sciences, and ensure that our program continues to be a diverse and welcoming experience for all students.
College of Agriculture and Life Sciences Senator

My name is Emily Lamb, and I am a junior studying Environmental Science. I have always loved the outdoors and have dedicated my life to environmental and agricultural stewardship in order to protect the world that provides for us. As Senator for the College of Agriculture and Life Science, my main goal would be to continue this desire for stewardship within my college. CALS is a very large college that represents a diverse set of majors, as well as a variety of different educational desires. As Senator, I would focus on creating a greater sense of community within CALS, and making a large college seem smaller. I want to provide personalized assistance to every person in CALS, wether they desire more internship opportunities, a better relationship with the Tucson community, or an increased alumni network to help advise students. I truly believe that we should foster a space where each individual feels important and like their needs are being met.
College of Architecture, Planning, and Landscape Architecture Senator

My name is Trinity Showalter and I am running for the College of Architecture, Planning, and Landscape Architecture Senator for the 2022-2023 academic year. Currently being involved in the honorary system and Greek life on campus, I wanted to broaden my horizons and be more directly involved with ASUA and campus as a whole. Being a representative for the College of Architecture, Planning, and Landscape Architecture would allow me to advocate for my peers while talking about my future career and passion. General Elections take place March 1st-2nd, and for my peers it would truly be an honor to represent you in ASUA Senate.
