SafeRide is a free transportation service for University of Arizona affiliates. Since 1981, SafeRide has provided a nighttime alternative to walking alone on campus and in the Tucson community. It is managed and operated entirely by students under the sponsorship of the Associated Students of the University of Arizona (ASUA). As an academic service, SafeRide's mission is to serve those going to or from campus, while also providing a friendly and official presence on the streets at night.

- 20 minutes before close, SafeRide's boundaires are truncated. The trucated boundaries are:
- Grant to the North, 8th St. to the South, Tucson Blvd. to the East, and 4th Ave. to the West. Please keep this in mind if you are calling in the last 20 minutes of our operating hours.
Saferide is currently operating with reduced boundaries, hours, and longer wait times. Listed below is a picture of our current boundaries, we apologize for the inconvenience.

SafeRide is an academic program. We reserve the right to refuse service to anyone. For liability reasons, we do not transport intoxicated passengers.
Any belongings you carry must be able to fit in your lap. This include backpacks, purses, and any grocery items. As a general rule, you must limit your groceries to FOUR bags or less per person. SafeRide drivers are unable to open their trunks to accommodate more items.
You are responsible for knowing your pick-up location (not every location is right outside of the front doors). If you do not know where to wait, please ask your operator or take a look at our locations list!
SafeRide can only accept ONE destination per call. If you have multiple destinations, you must place multiple calls.
SafeRide is not able to schedule rides in advance. Please be aware of your schedule and only request rides when you are ready. SafeRide is not responsible for your potential tardiness.
Saferide does NOT pick up or drop off in Downtown Tucson or 4th Ave.
Saferide out of boundaries pick-up locations are El Con (Walmart, Target, Theater) and The Retreat.

How much does Saferide cost?
- SafeRide is a FREE service sponsored by Associated Students of the University of Arizona, The University of Arizona Parents and Family Association, and the UA Student Affairs Fee. Drivers are not able to accept tips.

- SafeRide is an ASUA service and our operating days mirror those of ASUA
Who can use SafeRide?
- SafeRide is a free service for University of Arizona Students, Staff, and Faculty! You will be asked to show your CatCard, so please have that ready!

Does SafeRide have any safety tips?
- Make sure to always walk with a trusted friend at night. Utilize apps such as LiveSafe attached to the University of Arizona for safety tips as well being able to track your location.
Is SafeRide a designated driving service?
- SafeRide is not a designated driving service. Drivers and operators reserve the right to refuse service to any passenger. Intoxicated passengers are a liability so SafeRide cannot condone alcohol consumption. To be directly connected with Discount Cab, call 621-SAFE and press ‘4.’
Who runs SafeRide?
- SafeRide is operated by one director. The SafeRide Director is a student appointed by the ASUA Administrative Vice President each year. These Director then hires supervisors and drivers. SafeRide is a completely student-run service with paid student employees.
Why did my driver cancel my ride?
- Please be mindful of other students requesting rides, we have a four minute wait period - the driver will wait in your designated pick up location. Each minute you will receive a notification your driver has arrived, if you have not located your driver within those four minutes, the driver is forced to cancel the ride and proceed with different rides. If you experience problems locating your driver, please call (520) 621- SAFE(7233) and we will assist you in finding them.
Why can't I find my driver?
- If you are experiencing problems locating your driver, call (520) 621-SAFE (7233) and mention your name, email, and your pickup location. We are happy to assist you! We will communicate with the driver to ensure you are picked up.

Night Cat by Lyft
Spring service starts Tuesday 1/3/2023 and ends Friday 5/12/2023!
Parking & Transportation Services (PTS) offers eligible UArizona students, faculty, and staff free Lyft rides starting and ending on campus, Safeway on Broadway, or Walmart at El Con Mall ONLY. Ride codes are valid Monday - Friday from 5 p.m. to midnight.
HOW IT WORKS: Each month, eligible riders may request up to 6 free rides a month (2 ride codes per week) as program funding permits. Rides codes will cover up to a $15 maximum per ride. For rides more than $15, students, faculty and staff riders will be responsible for the remaining balance. Prices may be impacted by distance, traffic, time of day, special events and prime time surcharge.
Please Note: Once the monthly funds for the program have been exhausted, free rides will be suspended until next month.

Motorist Assistance Program
- Does your vehicle need a jump start?

- Do you need to locate your car?
- Does your air (air compressor) need service?
The Motorist Assistance Program(MAP), is a free service provided by the Parking and Transportation Services Parking Enforcement Section to all UA affiliates.
Call 621-2886 for assistance.
Vehicles requesting MAP service must be on University and/or Commercial property within the University property boundary as defined by UAPD campus patrol area.
If the Officer is unable to complete the Assistive service, our dispatcher can provide you with up to three alternative phone numbers to a commercial provider for the type of service needed.
